Celebrity engagement rings have always been a key source of inspiration for brides-to-be and this year we were spoiled for choice in terms of styles this year. We were even treated to a royal wedding, which always delivers on stunning pieces!
So, here are some of our favourite styles that we hope to see more of in 2019!
1. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas
Nick Jonas reportedly shut down the entire Tiffany store in NYC to pick out this ring. He went for a cushion cut centre with baguettes on the side, creating an almost antique-look. As you know, here at Commins & Co, we love antique-styles so this is a design we would love to add to our collection.
2. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
All eyes have been on the latest royal couple since the announcement of their engagement, especially because of the stunning engagement ring Prince Harry presented to his bride. Prince Harry designed Meghan’s ring himself with two diamonds belonging to his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales. Meghan’s engagement ring is a beautiful round brilliant trilogy style engagement ring set in yellow gold. We also love the revival of yellow gold that has emerged, and we hope to see it continue into 2019!
3. Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson
Although this relationship met a tumultuous and abrupt end recently, Ariana’s engagement ring was one of the most memorable of the year. Pete Davidson designed this stunning pear-cut diamond halo engagement set on a delicate diamond band which is believed to have set him back over $90,000. The pear cut has been a celeb-favourite this year and can also be seen on Paris Hilton, Cardi B and Sophie Turner.
4. Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber
Although the true size of this magnificent oval cut diamond is unknown, it is estimated to be anywhere between 6 and 10 carats. The oval cut is very flattering on the finger as it makes it appear slimmer and longer. The oval cut is one that would suit many people and is very versatile in terms of suiting other settings.
5. Lady Gaga and Christian Carino
At Commins & Co, we love coloured stones which is why we particularly loved Lady Gaga’s pink sapphire halo. Although this ring is believed to be worth over $400,000. The style of ring is not unlike Kate Middleton’s blue sapphire engagement ring. The same beautiful look can be achieved for a much lower cost, but if the pink really appeals to you, you could use a morganite centre instead if looking to keep the budget down.
There have been so many beautiful styles this year that we have been stunned by, but it is important to use these designs as inspiration not a blueprint. The engagement ring should be decided based on your own preferences, but there’s definitely no harm looking!
