Thinking of proposing this Christmas? Or just keen to spoil that special someone in your life? If so, then you could win a diamond ring by supporting the Jack & Jill Foundation during the festive season. The foundation, which supports young children with intellectual disabilities, has launched a new line of Christmas candles designed by Irish candle makers Duffy & Scott from Tullamore Co. Offaly. Anyone who buys one of the Christmas candles could win one of two diamond rings. The rings have been inserted into the bottom of the candles, and will become visible once the candle has burned down. Only two candles contain real diamond rings while all the others contain costume jewellery rings. The idea was the brainwave of 17-year-old Amy Walsh from Newbridge, whose mother is a big supporter of Jack & Jill. Jonathan Irwin, the CEO and founder of Jack & Jill, said the fundraising drive will go a long way to making up for the big shortfall the charity has suffered this year. “The monies raised from the candles will support home nursing care for our 300 sick children nationwide,” he said. “We’re hoping that this campaign will really capture the imagination of the public. We want to thank the retailers already on board and urge more to join us by stocking our candle. It’s a fantastic idea.” We at Perfect Ring also think it is a wonderful idea, and we wish Jack & Jill all the best with this fundraising initiative. The candles are available in two scents and can be purchased for €19.99 by visiting the Jack & Jill website.
