Women everywhere weep as George Clooney ties the knot

george clooney wedding pictureUnless you have been living under a rock you will have heard that George Clooney is now a married man after tying the knot to fiance Amal Amaluddin at the weekend.  It was a marriage that most people thought wouldn’t happen as George maintained publicly on many occasions that he would not marry again, however all that changed when he met his human rights lawyer Amal who is just 36 years old. Amal is quite a bit younger than George who is now 53, but he does look good for it!!!
The big wedding party took place on Saturday evening in the 7 star Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Venice, followed by brunch on Sunday in Hotel Cipriani and a civil service on Monday also in Venice.  The couple made their first public appearance as man and wife on Sunday morning, sporting their wedding bands! George’s band was a simple plain gold band while Amal’s was also quite simple it was set all the way around with small diamonds and it appeared to be a very thin delicate band.
It had been reported that US Vogue have secured the rights to the photographs of the wedding and the fee the couple receive will be going to charity. George and Amal were joined by 90 guests at the reception, including family and friends. Some of the guests of course happened to be famous stars and included Bono, Anna Wintour Chief Editor of Vogue magazine, Bill Murray, Cindy Crawford and her husband, Matt Damon and his wife as well as Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinki.
His wedding ring looks to be a 5mm platinum band, traditional court shape, possibly medium weight – cost from one of our Jewellers on to be approx. €750 – €895 however he either got if free or it was much more than this. Either way, the style is a classic but we expected nothing less from this gent. (It could be a palladium band which would save George a few quid at around €495 and looks the same as platinum. Around 85% of Irish guys choose palladium for anyone wondering!
Congratualtions to George and Amal and we hope they have many happy years to come!
